Revenue
Discounted item revenue plus shipping charged to the buyer. Pass-through sales tax is displayed separately.
Editable POD cost and margin estimator
Estimate what remains from a POD order after product costs, shipping, marketplace and payment fees, discounts, ads, and other assumptions. Change any input to model your provider, platform, and pricing setup.
No provider or marketplace is assumed. Review the visible defaults and replace them with your current costs and fees.
Print-on-demand contribution profit is the revenue retained from a modeled order minus the costs assigned to that order. Start with item revenue after discounts, add shipping charged to the buyer, and exclude pass-through sales tax. Then subtract provider product costs, shipping paid, marketplace and payment fees, listing fees, advertising, and other included costs.
The result is an estimate based on your entries. It may not include overhead, refunds, currency conversion, duties, income tax, or costs you leave out.
Enter one order scenario using current values from your POD provider, selling platform, payment processor, and advertising reports. Every assumption is editable.

All mutable cost and fee defaults are zero placeholders, not current marketplace or provider fees. Quantity starts at 1. Replace every assumption with current values from your provider, platform, processor, and reports.
Enter your assumptions to estimate this order.
Discounted item revenue plus shipping charged to the buyer. Pass-through sales tax is displayed separately.
Product or base costs for the quantity, shipping paid, and other per-item costs.
Percentage and fixed fees, listing costs, attributed advertising, and additional order costs.
The sum of all modeled costs. A discount reduces revenue and is not subtracted a second time.
Modeled pre-tax revenue minus modeled total costs. Business overhead and omitted costs may still apply.
Estimated contribution profit divided by modeled pre-tax revenue. It is unavailable when revenue is zero.
The item price where this scenario reaches zero contribution profit, using the same quantity and assumptions.
The cost of print on demand is more than a provider's base product price. It can include the blank product and printing, fulfillment shipping, marketplace and payment fees, listing costs, discounts that reduce revenue, attributed advertising, packaging, inserts, personalization, and other costs you choose to model.
Check whether a quote already includes a cost before adding it again. Enter shipping collected from the buyer under shipping charged and shipping paid to your provider under shipping paid. If shipping is included in the item price, enter zero for shipping charged while retaining the fulfillment expense.
A discount reduces item revenue before applicable percentage fees and is applied only once. Collected sales tax remains a pass-through amount. It can be included in the payment-fee basis when appropriate, but it never increases modeled contribution profit.
Use it to test the internal math of a scenario, then compare the threshold with current costs and customer-facing prices. Search demand, competitor prices, and a calculated threshold do not prove that a product will sell or make money.

A cost model shows what a sale would contribute under your assumptions; it cannot show whether shoppers want the product. Etsy POD sellers can review Etsy print-on-demand trends and use the Etsy market research tool to investigate product and keyword signals separately. The print-on-demand Etsy selling guide covers the wider listing workflow.

Results are estimates based on the values and fee bases you enter. Provider prices, shipping charges, marketplace fees, payment rules, taxes, and advertising costs can change or vary by product, destination, account, and country. Verify current values with your provider, selling platform, and payment processor. This calculator does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice and does not guarantee sales or profit.
Change product cost, shipping, fees, discount, or advertising assumptions and compare the estimate. Verify current values before publishing a price.
