There is no single best dpi for printing digital art in every workflow. For raster artwork, the input calculation is PPI: pixel dimensions divided by physical inches. Many workflows use 300 PPI as a high-resolution planning target, while products, substrates, viewing distances, and printers may specify something else. The best file format for printing digital art is a format your printer accepts that preserves what the job needs. JPEG can suit flattened imagery; PNG can preserve transparency; TIFF supports varied high-quality raster workflows; and PDF may package print documents or vectors. Capabilities and acceptance differ. Confirm current export, compression, profile, transparency, font, bleed, and size requirements with the provider.

The phrase standard canvas sizes for digital art usually means common frame, paper, or product proportions—not one universal canvas standard. Examples include 5 × 7 in (5:7), 8 × 10 in (4:5), 12 × 16 in (3:4), and ISO A-series paper. One master crop cannot fill every ratio without cropping or borders.
